Toddler Photography

Updating my baby girl who has now become quite the pro at posing for the camera!  Toddlers are usually a challenge to photograph once they start walking, but so far she remains rather easy to work with.  What to look for when picking a location to photography toddlers in: benches (slows them down), stairs (gives a nice back drop and they might just sit for a few minutes), flowers and trees (gives them something to look at, touch, and makes a nice backdrop), and shade (stay out of the harsh day light unless it is the afternoon). These were taken at 4pm in Piedmont Park which is just full of beautiful options for family photography, toddler photography, and engagement photography. I frequent these parks in Piedmont with my clients.

Alexandria is 3 months old!

I love this one, even though she really isn't asleep...it sure looks like it! We did the Japanese Tea Garden in Castro Valley, a location I have never been too.  It was a great back drop for the family portraits.

Ellie Turns 1!!

Ellie turned 1 and she got her portraits done by Amoreena Photography!  There are so many cute ones but I wanted to put these two up while I was editing away. Those big blue eyes and that look really captures Ellie.  We jumped around and tried to make her smile...which worked, but I really like the ones where she was just being herself with those beautiful eyes.  Precious!

Brayden's Birthday Photos

Brayden turned 1!  Here are his birthday photos done by Amoreena Photography in San Diego, Encinitas, CA.  My mom has a great backyard and these were all taken there.

Family Photos of Meghan, Scott, and Reece!

Another fun family photo session for their Holiday cards!  This little guy is about 16 months old and he of course doesn't like to sit for photos like most toddlers.  So we had him on the move! I love the action photos...he loved the ducker toy and playing in the sand. Remember to make toddlers look good in photos and keep them happy don't pose them, let them do their thing and they will give you magical photos.  It is only then you can see their true personality come through the photos.

Family Photos of Traci, Josh, and Zoe!!

Photography toddlers in a family portrait is tricky since they pretty much want to be on the move.  Zoe is 16 months and is the cutest toddler ever but she definitely made me work!  The trick is to keep them moving and catch the action. It's ok if they don't smile or look into the camera...some of the best moments are when children are just being themselves and exploring.  Zoe loves to be flown in the air so that was a fun photo to do!  I have so many favorites but here are a few from Piedmont Park in Piedmont..a beautiful spot for family photography!

Halloween Portraits!

Halloween is a great time for photos!  Toddlers won't tolerate these adorable outfits for long so make sure you get a photo that lasts and it is good quality!  Pumpkin patches are great places to take photos...try to avoid direct sunlight because it casts shadows. It's a successful day when the little ones keep the costume hoods on!  I love these! You can always bring your costume along to a shoot and get a few good ones if you missed the chance this weekend.

Of course I had to get in the action and get my photo done!  We were at the Piedmont Cemetery Pumpkin Patch... notice the orbs!  hee hee scary!
